The AMPP India Chapter (formerly NACE International India Section) will conduct a two-day educational training programme on “Inline Inspection of Oil & Gas Pipelines” on June 29–30, 2026, at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Mayur Vihar, Delhi (Noida).
The programme aims to equip industry professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage pipeline integrity, reduce corrosion-related costs, and enhance operational safety across oil and gas pipeline networks.
Focus on Corrosion Management and Pipeline Integrity
The training will focus on helping end users predict and prevent failures caused by corrosion while improving production quality and ensuring the long-term integrity of pipelines. Participants will gain insights into corrosion management strategies, risk-control procedures, and modern methods for mitigating losses resulting from corrosion.
In addition, the programme will cover the minimum requirements, guidelines, and operational procedures necessary to manage pipeline risks effectively.
Understanding the Role of In-Line Inspection
In-Line Inspection (ILI) has become a critical practice in the oil and gas industry. It uses advanced diagnostic tools to assess pipeline conditions and identify defects before they lead to major failures. Through ILI, operators can evaluate internal and external corrosion, geometric deformations, laminations, cracks, and other structural issues, enabling timely maintenance and improved pipeline reliability.
Industry Experts to Lead Technical Sessions
The training faculty comprises experienced industry professionals with more than 30 years of expertise in pipeline inline inspection and integrity management.
As per the press release, the programme will provide participants with comprehensive exposure to both established and emerging ILI technologies, along with practical case studies and real-world applications.
Key Topics to Be Covered
The training programme will cover:
- Fundamentals of corrosion and corrosion prevention
- Role of ILI in managing the integrity of oil and gas pipeline networks
- Types of ILI tools, including MFL, UT, and crack detection technologies, and criteria for tool selection
- Basics of MFL and UT technologies, tool design, and the importance of high-resolution inspection tools
- Advancements and emerging technologies in inline inspection
- ILI specifications, Probability of Failure (PoF) standards, and tool selection criteria
- Pipeline preparation for ILI operations
- Pipeline cleaning, gauging, caliper measurement, tool calibration, and ILI tool operations
- Requirements for baseline surveys
- ILI report quality control and interpretation
- ILI report analysis, outcome assessment, and development of remediation and maintenance plans
- ILI inspection techniques for illegal tap detection
- Preparation of effective ILI tenders
- Industry case studies and best practices
Participation Certificate
Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a participation certificate. The certificate can contribute toward Professional Development Hours (PDH) requirements, which are often needed for the renewal of professional certifications.
