The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) celebrated exemplary corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives at its 21st CSR Awards, recognising leading public and private sector organisations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to India’s inclusive development agenda.
Top Honours Across Sectors
In the women empowerment category, NTPC Limited emerged as the winner among public sector undertakings. ITC Limited took the top spot in the private sector (companies with annual turnover above ₹3,001 crore).
The skill development and livelihood category saw Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd. and Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. share the award, highlighting the private sector’s role in building India’s human capital. AkzoNobel India Ltd. received a jury commendation certificate for its efforts in this segment. For environmental sustainability, Dow Chemical International Pvt. Ltd. and Asian Paints Ltd. jointly won for their contributions to ecological preservation—reflecting a growing corporate focus on green strategies.
Alkem Laboratories Ltd. won the health, drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene category for companies with turnover between ₹201 crore and ₹3,000 crore.
The jury recognised Gameskraft Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in the ‘any other’ category for the same revenue bracket.
Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Transformation
The awards were preceded by the summit ‘Powering Bharat’s CSR for Inclusive Transformation and Sustainable Rural Transformation’. They showcased how corporate India is embracing strategic development partnerships. These partnerships aim to address challenges in rural transformation, environmental protection, skill development, and social equity.
As per FICCI’s press release, India is cementing its position as the world’s fastest-growing economy. The 21st FICCI CSR Awards reinforce the private sector’s growing role in driving economic growth. They also highlight its efforts to ensure this growth is inclusive and sustainable across the country.
