GPS Renewables, a biogas engineering company, named Ravikumar SV as CEO of Bharat GPS Bioenergy Private Limited (BGBPL), a newly formed joint venture with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). The strategic move aims to accelerate India’s bioenergy transition and expand the country’s compressed biogas (CBG) ecosystem.

Industry Veteran to Lead Bioenergy Growth

As per the press release, Ravikumar has over 29 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He brings deep expertise in project planning, execution, cost control, and maintenance management. Before taking on this role, he served as Senior Vice President overseeing project planning, cost control, billing, and execution. In his new position, he will spearhead BGBPL’s mission to scale up biogas production, aligning with India’s ambitious clean energy goals.

Appointment Formalized at Inaugural Board Meeting

Under the joint venture structure, GPS Renewables nominated Ravikumar SV for the leadership position. BGBPL’s Board approved his appointment at its first meeting on July 2, 2025.

Driving India’s Clean Energy Ambitions

Ravikumar SV said, “The joint venture between GPS Renewables and Bharat Petroleum will play a pivotal role in scaling up biogas production in India. With 8–12 projects planned in the initial phase, BGBPL is committed to building a robust CBG ecosystem nationwide. I am excited to lead our efforts and drive India’s clean energy goals forward.”
