GPS Renewables, which is into clean fuels technology and engineering sector, has bagged orders amounting to ₹2,000 crore. The orders mark a significant milestone for the company, steering it towards the implementation of various projects focused on compressed biogas (CBG) or renewable natural gas (RNG) across India.

The purpose-designed compressed biogas plants are designed to process 4,000 tons of agricultural residue and energy crops per day (TPD). Additionally, to address the issue of landfill accumulation, an additional 300 TPD of municipal solid waste (MSW) will be managed for biogas. Envisaging a daily production of at least 350 TPD of compressed biogas (CBG) from this project, the company anticipates generating over ₹500 crore in revenue in FY23-24.

The company acquired Proweps Envirotech GmbH, a design and engineering firm specialising in technologies for utilising agricultural residue and organic waste to produce biogas. Proweps brings a wealth of international expertise in waste treatment, anaerobic digestion, and biogas upgrading plants. Moreover, the company has successfully established over 100 biogas plants, including the largest RNG plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
