Grasim Introduces EcoSodium

Grasim Industries Ltd unveiled EcoSodium, an innovative sustainable product created from recovered sodium sulphate (SS) during the production of viscose staple fiber (VSF). The initiative reduces the environmental impact by minimising wastewater output. EcoSodium reflects Grasim’s adherence to top global standards in sodium sulfate recovery and sustainability.

Chief Marketing Officer, Grasim, ManMohan Singh highlighted that EcoSodium establishes new industry standards by combining environmental responsibility with operational excellence. The product complies fully with REACH and ZDHC MRSL guidelines, ensuring that both sourcing and manufacturing processes are sustainably managed.

Surya Valluri, Chief Sustainability Officer, Grasim, underlined the company’s commitment to eco-friendly solutions, showcased by the development of EcoSodium. The product’s production processes, traceability, and supply chain management have been independently verified by BluWin Ltd in the UK, demonstrating Grasim’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

As reported by ManufacturingToday, EcoSodium is adaptable for use in a range of industries including textiles, detergents, glass manufacturing, zinc smelting, pulp and paper production, and leather chemicals.
