Vitol and GAIL Forge Long-Term LNG Supply Pact

Vitol Asia, a subsidiary of the Switzerland-based energy and commodities firm Vitol, has signed a deal with GAIL (India). The deal encompasses the annual provision of approximately one million metric tons of LNG over a span of approximately ten years, commencing in 2026.

Vitol will supply LNG from its extensive global portfolio to GAIL, with deliveries extending across India. GAIL has a multifaceted presence in India’s energy landscape, engaging in gas trading, transmission, LPG production and transmission, LNG re-gasification, petrochemicals, city gas, and exploration and production activities.

As reported by OFFSHORE ENERGY, with a widespread network of over 16,000 kilometres of natural gas pipelines spanning India, GAIL commands around 70% market share in gas transmission and boasting a gas trading share exceeding 50% in India.

Vitol, a known player in the energy sector covering oil, gas, power, renewables, and carbon, maintains a robust global LNG portfolio sourced from North America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Additionally, the company operates a worldwide fleet of LNG vessels.
