Flour Corporation has been selected by H2 Green Steel to deliver engineering, procurement, and construction management services for the world’s pioneering renewable hydrogen-based integrated ‘green steel’ mill located in Boden, Sweden. Upon its completion, the green steel mill is expected to yield five million tons of steel annually by 2030, boasting up to a 95 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to conventional blast furnace technology.

As reported by pbctoday, Flour’s primary focus will be on furnishing services for the site’s melt shop and casting, rolling, and finishing facilities. The mill will be powered on-site by one of the globe’s largest electrolyser hydrogen plants, which is an integral component of the approximately €6.5bn project.
