Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL), part of the Vedanta Group, revealed that its production of mined metal has achieved 271 kilotons (KT), indicating a seven percent year-on-year growth and an eight percent quarter-on-quarter increase. The growth is credited to a combination of improved mined metal grades and increased ore production at the Rampura Agucha and Sindesar Khurd mines. The total mined metal production reached 780 KT, an impressive two percent year-on-year growth fuelled by enhanced mined metal grades.

As for production statistics for the third quarter and the nine months ending on December 31, 2023, HZL revealed that it achieved the highest-ever nine months of mined metal and silver production for the fiscal year 2023-24.

Refined metal production for the quarter reached 259 KT, an increase of seven percent, attributable to improved plant availability and a marginal one percent year-on-year increase. As reported by CNBC TV 18, refined lead production experienced a remarkable surge of 21% year-on-year, reaching 56 KT.
