IOCL’s Compressed Biogas Plant Inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh

The inauguration of Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s (IOCL) second Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant took place in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. CEID Consultant and Engineering Pvt Ltd led the gas generation (EPCC 1) and gas purification (EPCC 4) aspects of the project, utilizing CBG technology approved by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG).

The initiative aims to advance clean energy solutions and environmental responsibility by converting agricultural waste into a minimum of twenty tons of pure compressed Biogas (CBG) per day. By doing so, it significantly contributes to waste management efforts and mitigates the carbon footprint associated with conventional farming practices.

The project underscores CEID’s dedication to sustainable energy and aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s vision to promote clean and renewable energy sources. As reported by msn.com, by processing 200 tons of agricultural waste daily, the plant offers an environmentally friendly solution to waste management challenges.
