Jagatjit Commences Commercial Production at Punjab Ethanol Plant

Jagatjit Industries commenced commercial production at its grain-based ethanol plant in Hamira, located in Punjab’s Kapurthala district. The facility marks a key diversification milestone for the company as it enters the sustainable energy segment.

High Capacity with Strong Revenue Projections

With a daily production capacity of 200 kilolitres, the ethanol unit is projected to generate ₹550 crore in annual revenue once it reaches full-scale operations. During its first partial year, the company anticipates earnings of approximately ₹300 crore.

Fuelling India’s Bio-Energy Mission

The plant will supply 65–70 million litres of ethanol per year to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), directly supporting India’s national goals under the ethanol blending and biofuel programs. This move aligns with the government’s broader push for energy transition and cleaner fuel alternatives.

Strategic Growth Beyond Spirits

“This plant brings stable, high-quality revenue that strengthens our balance sheet and funds our next phase of growth across premium spirits and new markets,” said Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, Promoter and Executive Director of Jagatjit Industries. As reported by projectstoday, Jagatjit Industries, with manufacturing units in Punjab and Behror, Rajasthan, adds green energy to its portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable diversification and long-term growth.
