Leading Indian Companies Bid for Green Hydrogen and Electrolyser Incentives

Reliance Industries, JSW Energy, Torrent Power, and Bharat Petroleum Corp, have submitted bids for incentives under India’s green hydrogen plan. Additionally, Reliance Industries, Adani Group, Jindal India, Larsen & Toubro, and Bharat Heavy Electricals, have entered bids for incentives to manufacture electrolysers.

The government, in July, initiated a $2 billion program to encourage green hydrogen production and electrolyser manufacturing, attracting bids for 0.55 million metric tons of green hydrogen, surpassing the targeted 0.45 million tons.

Companies like Acme Cleantech, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen, CESC, Greenko ZeroC, and Avaada GreenH2 are among the bidders for green hydrogen production. India aims to achieve an annual green hydrogen production capacity of five million tons by 2030.

As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, for the invitation to set up 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyser manufacturing capacity, bids for 3.4 GW were received, participants included Waaree Energies, Ohmium Operations, Advait Infratech, and Acme Cleantech Solutions.
