L&T Technology Services (LTTS), a global player in AI, digital, and engineering research and development (ER&D) consulting services, inaugurated its first Engineering Intelligence Center of Excellence (EI CoE) in Europe. Located in Munich, Germany, the new center marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to drive AI-led industrial transformation across global manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Munich EI CoE to Accelerate AI-Driven Engineering
The Munich-based EI CoE strengthens LTTS’ Engineering Intelligence (EI) vision by integrating advanced AI technologies across the entire engineering lifecycle. Through this initiative, the company aims to help enterprises develop intelligent products, autonomous operations, and next-generation manufacturing systems. The center will leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI (GenAI), Agentic AI, multimodal AI, Physical AI, and edge intelligence. By combining these technologies with deep engineering expertise, LTTS intends to move industries beyond AI experimentation toward scalable, real-world industrial applications.
Focus on Smart Manufacturing and Connected Ecosystems
Strategically positioned in one of Europe’s leading industrial and technology hubs, the Munich EI CoE will function as a collaborative innovation center for customers across mobility, industrial products, sustainability, and technology sectors. In particular, the facility will focus on intelligent manufacturing solutions, software-defined products, predictive operations, connected engineering ecosystems and AI-enabled industrial automation. These capabilities are designed to align with Europe’s rapidly evolving industrial priorities and digital transformation goals.
LTTS Strengthens European Presence
LTTS has steadily expanded its footprint across Europe and currently serves more than 60 clients in the region. The company also employs over 4,500 engineers supporting European operations. With the launch of the EI CoE, LTTS aims to deliver faster, outcome-driven innovation while enhancing collaboration with clients, technology partners, and academic institutions across Europe.
Industry Leaders Attend Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration event brought together industry executives, clients, innovation partners, government representatives, academic leaders, and members of the Indo-German business community. The gathering highlighted the growing importance of AI-led engineering and cross-border innovation partnerships.
Leadership Commentary
Amit Chadha, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of LTTS, said, “LTTS’ first EI Center of Excellence in our Munich design center is a major milestone as it brings our deep-tech and Engineering Intelligence-based solutions closer to clients’ R&D hubs across Europe. The center will serve as a focal point for innovation, R&D, and new product development, redefining how products, platforms, and manufacturing systems are engineered and optimized in the AI era.” As per the press release, further strengthening its AI leadership, LTTS has filed more than 237 patents in AI and Generative AI during FY26 alone.
