McDermott secured a sizeable offshore transportation and installation contract from BRAVA Energia, Brazil’s most diversified independent oil and gas company. The contract involves two key deepwater fields: Papa-Terra in the Campos Basin and Atlanta in Block BS-4 within the Santos Basin. Both fields are located offshore Brazil.
Scope of Work: Pipelines, Umbilicals, and Subsea Equipment
McDermott will be responsible for transporting and installing flexible pipelines, umbilicals, and other subsea infrastructure. The scope covers four new wells—two each at the Papa-Terra and Atlanta Phase Two development fields. The company will also handle pre-commissioning operations and provide onshore base support services, ensuring seamless project execution.
Strategic Impact: Enabling Long-Term Deepwater Production
“This award highlights the vital role of subsea infrastructure in enabling long-term production and asset value for deepwater developments,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s Senior Vice President, Subsea and Floating Facilities. “We will leverage our integrated delivery model, marine capabilities, and deep experience in brownfield deepwater projects to support BRAVA Energia and the broader South American offshore market,” Swaminathan added.
Supporting BRAVA’s Vision for Enhanced Output
The new wells, operated by BRAVA Energia, form a critical part of the company’s broader strategy to boost production and extend the life of its offshore assets. The latest partnership reflects BRAVA’s continued investment in deepwater infrastructure to meet Brazil’s growing energy demands.
A Legacy of Innovation in Brazilian Deepwater
McDermott is no stranger to Brazilian waters. The company previously delivered the Papa-Terra tension leg wellhead platform. It was the first dry-tree floating production system offshore Brazil and also the first tension leg platform installed in South America. According to the company’s press release, the contract builds on that legacy. It reinforces McDermott’s reputation as a key enabler of complex offshore developments in the region.
