Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Talcher Fertilizers Limited (TFL) for the safe, scientific and environmentally responsible utilisation of fly ash generated from TFL’s upcoming coal gasification-based Ammonia-Urea Project at Talcher. The partnership aims to establish an efficient fly ash management system while supporting sustainable mining practices and scientific mine reclamation.
Supporting Sustainable Mine Reclamation
Under the agreement, fly ash generated from the fertilizer plant will be utilised for scientific mine reclamation and other environmentally beneficial applications. The initiative will help reduce the environmental footprint of fly ash disposal while restoring mined-out areas through scientifically planned reclamation activities.
