Manali Petrochemicals Ltd (MPL) reached a major milestone with the expansion of its propylene glycol plant, reinforcing its position as one of the key players in specialty chemicals sector. MPL will soon begin operations at the state-of-the-art facility. This follows the grant of the Consent to Operate (CTO) from the Tamil Nadu State Pollution Control Board.
50,000 TPA Capacity Addition Marks Strategic Leap
With the latest expansion, MPL will add 50,000 tons per annum (TPA) of propylene glycol capacity to its existing 22,000 TPA, effectively more than tripling its production volume. This capacity boost will help MPL meet growing domestic demand and reduce reliance on imports.
Driving ‘Make in India’ with Advanced Manufacturing
The initiative is a testament to MPL’s long-term commitment to the government’s ‘Make in India’ programme. As reported by business-standard.com, by integrating advanced technologies and enhancing domestic capabilities, MPL is aligning itself with national goals to strengthen local manufacturing, improve supply chain resilience, and support self-reliance in essential chemical inputs.
