Neuron Energy, a battery manufacturer, entered the grid-scale energy storage market with the commissioning of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Maharashtra. The new facility marks a strategic expansion of the company’s advanced energy solutions portfolio and reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
₹100-Crore Investment to Boost Energy Storage Manufacturing
The project involves a capital investment of ₹100 crore and is designed to cater to a wide range of customers, including solar power developers, commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers, and utility providers in both domestic and international markets. Spread across seven acres, the facility is a fully automated and robotic manufacturing plant dedicated to producing containerised battery energy storage systems. These advanced manufacturing capabilities are expected to enhance production efficiency and ensure the delivery of high-performance energy storage solutions.
High-Capacity Plant for Grid and Solar Applications
The newly commissioned plant has an annual production capacity of 5 GWh and is capable of manufacturing up to 1,000 BESS units per year. The modular systems produced at the facility are designed for solar power installations and grid infrastructure, where they will store surplus renewable energy and release it during peak demand periods. As a result, these energy storage systems will help improve grid stability, enhance energy efficiency, and enable better integration of renewable energy into the power network. The development is also likely to support the growth of local supply chains and advanced manufacturing capabilities in the energy storage segment.
Leadership Perspective on Energy Storage Expansion
Pratik Kamdar, Co-founder and CEO of Neuron Energy, said, “Our entry into the grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems segment is a natural extension of our journey in advanced energy solutions. As renewable energy adoption accelerates in India, reliable and scalable storage infrastructure will become critical to strengthening the power ecosystem. Our upcoming BESS facility in Talegaon reflects this vision—enabling us to build high-performance, large-format energy storage solutions for both domestic and global markets.”
Supporting India’s Renewable Energy Transition
With the commissioning of the facility, Neuron Energy aims to play a key role in India’s energy transition by providing scalable storage infrastructure for renewable energy integration. As solar and wind power capacity continues to expand, grid-scale energy storage systems will become essential for ensuring reliable, efficient, and sustainable power supply. As reported by projectstoday.ai, through its manufacturing facility, the company seeks to strengthen India’s battery manufacturing ecosystem while contributing to the global demand for advanced energy storage technologies.
