Reliance Group announced that its subsidiary, Reliance Infrastructure, is setting up one of India’s most advanced and fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystems. The facility will cover the entire value chain – ingots, wafers, cells and modules – making it one of the country’s most comprehensive solar production platforms.

Next-Generation Technology to Bridge Supply Gaps

Reliance Infrastructure will build the upcoming manufacturing facility using next-generation technology. This facility will help India bridge its growing demand-supply gap, as the country will need 55–60 GW of solar modules annually by 2030, while upstream manufacturing capacity lags far behind.

Strengthening India’s Clean Energy Security

By creating a high-value, vertically integrated production ecosystem, Reliance Infrastructure aims to reduce import dependence and enhance India’s clean energy security. The facility will support the country’s push toward energy independence and rapid adoption of renewable power.

Expanding into End-to-End Battery Manufacturing

Additionally, Reliance Infrastructure is establishing a complete battery manufacturing ecosystem, spanning cell production, pack assembly and grid-scale containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, the presentation highlights that India’s current stationary storage base is below 1 GWh, but demand is projected to soar to 250 GWh by 2032. At present, domestic manufacturing meets less than ten percent of the expected requirement, underscoring the need for large-scale expansion.
