ReNew successfully reduced 18.6 million tons (MnT) of carbon emissions in FY25 by expanding its clean energy capacity. The achievement was highlighted in the company’s Second Integrated Report, underscoring its progress toward a sustainable, net-zero future. Through its water-saving initiatives, ReNew conserved over 540 million litres of water during FY25 — a remarkable 50% increase compared to last year. This initiative forms a critical part of the company’s broader environmental stewardship program.
Exceeding Emission Reduction Targets
ReNew reported an 18.2% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from its FY22 baseline, surpassing its annual target of 12.6%. The company also maintained carbon neutrality for the fifth consecutive year. Additionally, ReNew sourced 76% of its electricity from renewable sources, significantly ahead of its 2025 target of 50%.
SBTi-Validated Net-Zero Commitment
The report reaffirmed ReNew’s dedication to its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated net-zero target. It is the first Indian pure-play renewable energy company to secure this validation. As reported by business-standard.com, Sumant Sinha, Founder, Chairman and CEO of ReNew, stated, “India is in the middle of a once-in-a-generation clean energy leap. This leap will define the world’s future.” This Integrated Report goes beyond data; it offers a lens into how we are building a future-ready company that delivers clean energy with integrity, innovation, and real-world impact.”
