Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) officially established a wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Limited, as part of its large-scale investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The move follows RIL’s announcement at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) last month, where Chairman Mukesh Ambani unveiled plans for an AI-focused subsidiary.
Building Gigawatt-Scale AI Data Centers
Reliance Intelligence will spearhead the construction of gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data centers across India, powered entirely by green energy. These centers will play a pivotal role in addressing the country’s national-level AI training and inference needs. Work has already begun in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where construction is progressing in phases, supported by Reliance’s new energy ecosystem.
Four Core Missions
The newly formed subsidiary will concentrate on four strategic missions:
*Developing Next-Generation AI Infrastructure to strengthen India’s digital backbone.
*Promoting Global Partnerships to accelerate AI adoption and innovation.
*Creating AI Services for India tailored to local needs and industries.
*Nurturing AI Talent to build a future-ready workforce.
Driving India’s AI Ambitions
As reported by msn.com, Mukesh Ambani emphasized that Reliance Intelligence will serve as a key enabler of India’s AI revolution. It will combine advanced infrastructure with renewable energy to power innovation sustainably. With this initiative, RIL is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s AI ecosystem, aiming to deliver both domestic impact and global competitiveness.
