Rockwell Automation to Establish Manufacturing Plant in Chennai

Rockwell Automation, a company, which is into industrial automation based in the U.S., is set to establish a new production plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Slated to cover 98,000 square feet, the facility is expected to commence operations in the first half of 2025.

Located in the Sholinganallur Special Economic Zone (SEZ), near its existing cubic manufacturing unit, the new facility aims to enhance productivity and operational agility by leveraging existing synergies. The cubic unit focuses on the production of modular enclosure systems used in the construction of power and electrical panels.

With the addition of this facility, Rockwell Automation aims to bolster its supply chain resilience across the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide. The expansion is part of Rockwell Automation’s strategy to expand its footprint in India, enhance its capacity for global-scale manufacturing, and redefine industrial operations in this rapidly expanding market.

As reported by Projects Today, the decision to expand in Tamil Nadu followed negotiations between Rockwell Automation and the Tamil Nadu industries department at the World Economic Forum in Davos. India’s economic strategies play a significant role in shaping global economic trends, especially in trade, investment, and innovation sectors.
