Saatvik Green Energy to Invest ₹3,150 Crore in Solar Manufacturing Facility in Odisha

Saatvik Green Energy announced a capital expenditure plan of ₹3,150 crore to expand its solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Odisha. The major investment underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities and reinforcing its position as a leading integrated renewable energy company in India.

Phased Expansion Plan to Boost Capacity

According to Prashant Mathur, CEO of Saatvik Green Energy, the expansion will be executed in two phases, with the goal of significantly increasing production capacity to meet growing industry demand. In the first phase, the company will establish a 4 GW solar module and 2.4 GW solar cell manufacturing capacity, involving an investment of ₹550 crore and ₹1,300 crore, respectively.
The second phase will add another 2.4 GW of cell capacity, supported by an additional investment of ₹1,300 crore. Once completed, the Odisha facility will become a key pillar in Saatvik’s long-term growth strategy, enabling the company to cater to both domestic and international markets.

Driving Self-Reliance in Solar Manufacturing

Mathur emphasized that the investment aligns with India’s clean energy goals and the government’s Make in India initiative. “This strategic expansion will not only secure our market share in the rapidly growing solar industry but also strengthen Saatvik’s role as a fully integrated renewable energy firm,” he said. The move reflects Saatvik’s commitment to scaling indigenous production, reducing import dependence, and supporting India’s transition toward sustainable energy self-sufficiency.

Diversification and Future Growth Plans

In addition to ramping up solar manufacturing, Saatvik is also diversifying into complementary segments such as solar inverters and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.
