SLCM Bags Award for Excellence in Agricultural Sustainability

Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM), a known name in the global post-harvest sector for agricultural commodities, has bagged the ‘Sustainable Agriculture Awards’ 2022 from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), India’s oldest and largest industry association spanning various business sectors. In the second edition of the awards, SLCM bagged the honours for the second consecutive year in the ‘Innovative Product/Technology/Services Promoting Sustainable Agriculture’ category.

SLCM has been honoured with the award recognising its outstanding contribution to innovation among large enterprises, specifically for its AgriReach process management system. This framework, implemented in warehouses, has successfully reduced post-harvest losses to an impressive 0.5 percent.

As reported by Agriculture Post, the achievement is attributed to a comprehensive approach involving processes, audits, and real-time tracking, enhancing efficiency and minimizing storage damage. The system incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as geo-fencing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), IoT-based surveillance, real-time tracking, and bar-coded storage receipts to ensure secure storage.

SLCM has broadened its product portfolio within the AgriReach framework, introducing exclusive solutions like AgriSuraksha and the AgriReach Mobile Quality Check App. The additions contribute to more efficient monitoring and quality control for agricultural commodities stored in SLCM facilities.

Sandeep Sabharwal, CEO, SLCM commented, “We are happy to win this prestigious award for the second year in a row. The award from India’s oldest and largest apex business association FICCI, is a clear endorsement of the impact we have delivered through our proprietary AgriReach process management system that leverages the latest developments in technology to enhance the Preservation, Management and Security (PMS) of foodgrain stock. The award is a huge morale booster for our team who are constantly working to integrate the latest technology-based systems and solutions into warehousing so that the advantage of a safe and modern storage system can benefit maximum stakeholders in the agricultural food chain”.
