SRF to Expand Chemical Business

SRF Limited, a diversified chemical conglomerate signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL). The agreement paves the way for land acquisition in Gopalpur, District Ganjam, Odisha, valued at approximately ₹282 crore.

Land Acquisition to Drive New Projects

Under the MoU, SRF will acquire land through a sub-lease arrangement to expand its Chemicals Business by setting up new projects in Odisha. The company will undertake due diligence before signing a definitive sub-lease, subject to timely fulfillment of its payment obligations.

Strengthening Core Chemicals Business

SRF’s chemicals business is a key revenue driver, producing specialty chemicals for pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and industrial applications, along with refrigerants and other fluorochemicals. The land acquisition is expected to bolster SRF’s ability to meet growing domestic and global demand in these high-value segments.

Diversified Portfolio Beyond Chemicals

While chemicals remain at the core of SRF’s operations, the company has a broad business portfolio:

*Packaging Films Business: Supplies flexible packaging solutions to international markets.

*Technical Textiles Business: Manufactures tyre cord fabrics and belting fabrics catering to the automotive and industrial sectors.
