Symbio Inaugurates Gigafactory for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Production

Symbio, a joint venture between Forvia, Michelin, and Stellantis, is inaugurating SymphonHy, a gigafactory, located in Saint-Fons, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Positioned as the largest integrated fuel cell production site in Europe, SymphonHy includes the group’s headquarters, a production plant, an innovation hub, and the Symbio H2 academy. With advanced technology, the facility will boast high levels of automation and robotics, facilitating large-scale industrial production at competitive cost.

The advancements play a crucial role in accelerating the deployment of competitive and high-performance H2-powered transport, aligning with Europe’s energy transition goals towards net-zero emissions. SymphonHy positions Symbio to support customers in making zero-emission H2 mobility economically viable without compromising performance.

As reported by H2TECH, with over thirty years of experience, support from automotive leaders, and more than six million kilometres of road-testing, Symbio offers a diverse portfolio of solutions meeting power, durability, and autonomy requirements across various vehicle categories.
