Vikram Solar Planning Eleven GW Module Manufacturing Units in Tamil Nadu

Vikram Solar, a solar module manufacturer, is set to significantly expand its production capacity by commissioning 11 GW of new module manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu by the end of this fiscal year. The expansion will increase the company’s total installed module manufacturing capacity to 15.5 GW, reinforcing its position in the renewable energy sector.

Vallam and Gangaikondan Facilities

The firm plans a 5 GW unit at Vallam in the third quarter, followed by a 6 GW facility at Gangaikondan in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year. These projects form a key part of Vikram Solar’s strategy to meet growing domestic and global demand for solar modules.

Record-Breaking Expansion at Vallam

The management highlighted that the Vallam facility is the company’s single largest expansion project. The company completed it in a record timeframe of just six months. The plant will feature four manufacturing lines of 1.25 GW each. This showcases the company’s aggressive growth strategy and its commitment to strengthening India’s renewable energy manufacturing base.
