Waaree Energies Ltd strengthened domestic solar manufacturing capacity by commissioning a 3 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Samakhiali, Kutch district, Gujarat. The project has been developed by the company’s subsidiary Sangam Solar One Pvt Ltd, further reinforcing Waaree’s position in the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The facility represents a major step in scaling up India’s solar module production capabilities, supporting the country’s growing demand for clean energy infrastructure.
Large-Scale Manufacturing Capacity at Samakhiali
The facility consists of four advanced production lines, each with a manufacturing capacity of 750 MW. Together, these lines provide a combined production capacity of 3 GW of solar modules per year. With this development, Waaree Energies aims to improve manufacturing efficiency, strengthen domestic supply chains, and support large-scale solar power projects across India.
Expansion of Existing Manufacturing Infrastructure
The facility is part of Waaree’s ongoing expansion strategy at the same location. Earlier, by November 2025, Sangam Solar One had already established two solar module manufacturing lines, each with a capacity of 750 MW. The initial phase added 1.5 GW of manufacturing capacity at the site. The commissioning of the additional 3 GW facility significantly enhances the plant’s production capability and demonstrates the company’s commitment to scaling up solar manufacturing in India.
Strengthening Waaree’s Manufacturing Footprint in Gujarat
Alongside the Samakhiali expansion, Waaree Energies has continued to invest in additional manufacturing projects within Gujarat. In November 2025, the company announced plans to establish another 2.1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Degam village, Navsari district. This project is expected to further boost Waaree’s manufacturing footprint and contribute to India’s solar supply chain resilience.
Boost to India’s Solar Manufacturing Ecosystem
With the addition of the new facility, Waaree Energies has increased its overall solar module manufacturing capacity by approximately 3.6 GW across its operations. These expansions align with India’s broader renewable energy strategy, which aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing while reducing reliance on imported solar equipment. As reported by thebatterymagazine.com, by expanding its production infrastructure, Waaree Energies continues to play a key role in supporting India’s solar power growth and advancing the country’s clean energy transition.
