Waaree Energies has introduced its latest flexible lightweight (FLW) solar modules, designed to expand solar adoption in areas where traditional glass panels cannot be installed. These innovative panels make it easier to harness solar energy on unconventional surfaces, enabling clean energy integration across urban landscapes.

Designed for Challenging Surfaces

The FLW modules are ideal for curved metro facades and petrol pump canopies. They also suit roadside barriers, street furniture, and railway infrastructure. Additionally, they work well on walls and rooftops with limited load capacity. Being up to 70% lighter than conventional glass panels and just 3.5 mm thin, they require only 8 kg/m² of roof strength. The design lets installers bond them directly to surfaces without mounting penetrations. This eliminates the need for drilling or heavy support structures.

High Performance and Efficiency

Select models deliver up to 500 W of output with 18% module efficiency. They feature an ETFE frontsheet and an IP67 junction box. These panels also offer superior low-light performance, making them ideal for dense city environments and transportation infrastructure.

Flexible Options for Diverse Needs

As reported by pv-magazine.com, the modules are available in 84 W, 125 W, 250 W, and 500 W versions, accommodating different layouts and curves. Nilesh Malani, Chief Marketing Officer and BU Head – Special Modules at Waaree Energies, stated, “Cities and critical infrastructure need solar that adapts to them – not the other way around. Our flexible platform expands solar installation options, simplifies BOS, and accelerates decarbonization across India’s toughest sites.”
