The motivating forces that led you to take to your educational and professional careers. What drove you to take up these respective fields?
Science is everywhere and all around us. I was passionate about understanding the Science behind making everyday cosmetics and home care products; today I am proud to be a part of transforming ideas and concepts which are delivering user-friendly and sustainable products. When I had to shortlist a stream all my fellow students were either trying for engineering or medical but I always wanted to do something unique and different. Cosmetology then was a unique stream which many of us were not even aware of having a master’s degree too. So, without wasting much time I decided to do cosmetology and now I am very proud of my unique skill set.

What were the challenges you faced from your educational career to your working life and how did you overcome them?
My education went on smoothly without any challenges; I was a confident student and was the university representative for my college. In my earlier days I got placed through campus recruitment in research and development. But soon after a month, I was moved to production, which I felt was unfair. I discussed my concern, spoke about my discomfort and my area of interest, which was understood and I shifted back to product development. So it is very important to speak for yourself and to be heard and pursue what you are passionate about.
