Avaada Electro, the manufacturing arm of renewable energy developer Avaada, has successfully commissioned a 1.5GW solar module assembly plant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Avaada Electro completed the facility in just three and a half months. It will produce bifacial tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) modules, enhancing India’s solar manufacturing capabilities.

Advanced Technology for High-Efficiency Modules

Engineers designed the plant to manufacture two types of solar cells: G12 (210mm) with a 1.5GW annual capacity and M10 (182mm) with a 1.2GW capacity. Avaada Electro has integrated advanced multi-busbar configurations ranging from 16 to 24 busbars, ensuring higher efficiency and performance.

Commitment to Quality and Sustainability

Vineet Mittal, Chairman, Avaada Group commented, “At Avaada, we are committed to ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards (‘Zero Defect’) while maintaining a minimal environmental footprint (‘Zero Effect’)”. He referenced the Indian government’s ‘Zero Defect, Zero Effect’ principle under the Made In India program, which promotes defect-free manufacturing with environmentally responsible processes.

Driving Innovation and Clean Energy Leadership

Mittal further highlighted, “Our goal is to build a cutting-edge research and development (R&D) ecosystem in Noida. This will foster continuous innovation and strengthen India’s leadership in clean energy and sustainable manufacturing.”

Supporting India’s ‘Made In India’ Initiative

Avaada’s latest project aligns with the government’s Made In India initiative. The initiative, launched in 2014, aims to boost domestic manufacturing across various industries. The initiative has significantly increased foreign direct investment (FDI), rising from US$45.1 billion in 2014-15 to US$70.9 billion in 2023-24.

Projectstoday.com reports that Avaada Electro, with this new plant, will play a crucial role in expanding India’s solar manufacturing capacity. Additionally, it will reinforce its position in the global renewable energy market.
