Solarium Green Energy has announced its strategic return to solar module manufacturing by setting up a 1,000 MW fully automated facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company will invest ₹70 crore in the project, funding it through a 3:1 debt-to-equity ratio. It plans to make the plant operational by Q4 of FY26. At 85% capacity utilisation, Solarium expects the facility to generate over ₹1,000 crore in annual revenue from open market module sales.
Strengthening Backward Integration
The new manufacturing plant is part of Solarium’s backward integration strategy, designed to enhance supply chain security, reduce cost volatility, and improve project margins by 5–8% for its in-house EPC deployments. “Our re-entry into manufacturing will bring strong synergies to our operations,” said Ankit Garg, Chairman and Managing Director, emphasizing that the initiative aligns with the company’s integrated business approach.
Advanced Technology for High-Efficiency Modules
The Ahmedabad facility will produce Crystalline Silicon Solar PV Modules using cutting-edge technologies, including:
*TOPCon cells
*Half-cut cells
*Bifacial cells
To ensure high-quality output and efficiency, the plant will feature high-end imported equipment such as tabber-stringers, laminators, and sun simulators.
Expanding Value Chain Capabilities
In addition to module manufacturing, Solarium is also expanding into structure manufacturing at its Bavla facility. Furthermore, the company has partnered with WattPower Systems to distribute inverters in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, strengthening its presence in the solar energy value chain. As reported by projectstoday.com, these developments underscore Solarium’s commitment to becoming a vertically integrated player in India’s renewable energy sector.
