thyssenkrupp nucera has bagged a significant contract from the Chemical Marketing and Distribution Company (CMDC), a subsidiary of Basic Chemical Industries Company (BCI), for the next phase of expansion of its chlor-alkali plant in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia. The project reinforces the longstanding partnership between the two companies and highlights thyssenkrupp nucera’s global leadership in electrolysis technologies.
Supplying Advanced, Energy-Efficient Membrane Technology
As part of the agreement, thyssenkrupp nucera will supply its state-of-the-art BM2.7 single-element membrane technology. Known for its energy efficiency and environmentally friendly design, the technology enhances plant performance through innovative energy-saving components. The EUR 15 million contract includes the supply, delivery, spare parts, and engineering services to support the expansion.
Strengthening a Decade-Long Collaboration
As per company press release, the partnership between BCI and thyssenkrupp nucera spans over a decade. It began with the first chlor-alkali plant project in Dammam in 2013 and was followed by the first phase of the Jubail plant in 2017. This latest contract further solidifies the collaboration and marks another step in the shared journey of growth and innovation.
