Lonza upgraded its organic growth model following strong operational performance, successful execution of growth projects and attractive market opportunities. The company outlined progress under its One Lonza Strategy, which aims to deliver long-term, profitable growth above the market average.

In less than two years, Lonza has transformed into a pure-play Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) following its exit from the Capsules & Health Ingredients business and other divestments. Building on this transformation, the company has strengthened its global operations and improved its financial outlook.

Lonza Strengthens Its Organic Growth Model

Lonza aims to deliver consistent, above-market organic sales growth, expand profit margins and improve cash generation. The company also plans to reinvest cash flows into future growth opportunities while maintaining high returns and creating long-term shareholder value.

As high-return growth projects mature, Lonza continues to improve operational efficiency, commercial performance and capital expenditure (CapEx) management. In addition, the company maintains strict control over overhead costs to support sustainable growth.

Based on this progress, Lonza has upgraded its organic growth model to low-teens average organic sales growth at constant exchange rates (CER) over time. It also expects to accelerate CORE EBITDA margin expansion, reaching the high-thirties range in the mid-term.

Furthermore, Lonza has introduced a mid-term return on invested capital (ROIC) ambition of two to three times its current weighted average cost of capital (WACC). The company also expects free cash flow (FCF) conversion to improve on average over time, reflecting stronger capital efficiency and disciplined investment.

Lonza expects organic capital expenditure to fluctuate around the mid-to-high teens as a percentage of sales. The company also remains committed to a progressive dividend policy, consistent with the Capital Allocation Framework it introduced in 2024.

CEO Highlights Progress

Wolfgang Wienand, CEO of Lonza, said the company delivered strong performance in Q3 2026 while continuing to execute its One Lonza Strategy successfully. He noted that the transition to a pure-play CDMO has created a stronger, more integrated global organisation that serves customers across all Business Platforms. He also highlighted the strength of the Lonza Engine and ongoing operational improvements as key factors supporting confidence in the company’s growth model. According to Wienand, Lonza aims to expand sales, improve profit margins and returns, increase cash generation, and allocate capital with discipline. These priorities will support sustainable, long-term value creation for customers, patients, shareholders and employees.

Lonza Reiterates Its Full-Year 2026 Financial Outlook

Lonza continued to perform in line with expectations across all Business Platforms during Q3 2026. Consequently, the company reaffirmed its full-year financial outlook, which it had upgraded following its H1 2026 results. The company expects 11–12% CER sales growth and a CORE EBITDA margin of 33–34% for the full year. However, it continues to anticipate a negative foreign exchange impact of approximately 2–3% on 2026 sales growth.

Capsules and Health Ingredients Performance Remains on Track

Lonza’s Capsules & Health Ingredients business also performed in line with expectations during Q3 2026. The company continues to forecast mid-single-digit CER sales growth and further CORE EBITDA margin expansion for the full year. As per the press release, Lonza’s upgraded organic growth model reflects its operational progress, maturing growth projects and focus on capital efficiency. Through disciplined investment and continued margin expansion, the company aims to strengthen its financial performance and deliver sustainable long-term growth.
