Air Water Expands Presence in Eastern India with Acquisition of Gas Plant at Tata Steel Facility

Air Water Inc. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Air Water India Pvt. Ltd., acquired a large-scale gas plant under construction at Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur plant in Jharkhand, Eastern India. Alongside the acquisition, Air Water India has entered into a 20-year long-term operation and maintenance contract, reinforcing its commitment to India’s growing industrial gas market.

Advanced Gas Production Capabilities

The newly acquired plant will produce a range of industrial gases, including:

  • Oxygen gas
  • Nitrogen gas
  • Argon gas
  • Liquid Oxygen
  • Liquid Nitrogen
  • Liquid Argon

With a capacity of 1,800 metric tons per day (m.t./d) of oxygen, the plant is poised to strengthen Tata Steel’s supply chain while meeting the rising demand for liquefied gases in Eastern and Northern India. The plant is scheduled to commence operations in November 2025, marking a major milestone for Air Water’s expansion in the region.

The company currently operates three onsite gas plants at the Jamshedpur facility, supplying gases continuously since 2019.
