From 2014 to 2022, Amazon, a well-known e-commerce and cloud company, has significantly contributed to India’s renewable energy landscape with its wind and solar projects. These initiatives have not only made Amazon one of the world’s largest corporate buyers of renewable energy, but also one of the leading buyers in India.

With the recent addition of a 198-megawatt wind farm in Osmanabad, Maharashtra, Amazon’s renewable energy capacity in India now exceeds 1.1 gigawatts. This milestone was achieved through the development of fifty wind and solar projects scattered throughout the country.

As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, over eight years from 2014 to 2022, Amazon’s investments in these wind and solar farms have had a substantial impact on Indian communities. It is estimated that these projects have led to approximately $349 million in direct and indirect investments, fostering economic growth and sustainability in various regions of India.
