Aurobindo Pharma reported a fire at Unit-IV of its wholly-owned subsidiary, APL Healthcare Ltd, located in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, which temporarily disrupted production. The incident occurred in granulation area-10 of Unit-IV (SEZ Unit) due to a short circuit. The fire spread to a nearby panel, affecting granulation area-10 and causing partial damage to granulation area-8. Out of the 19 production lines in the unit, two lines have been impacted and are expected to remain non-operational for approximately two weeks.

The in-house fire hydrant team quickly controlled the fire, with additional support from external fire tenders. No casualties or injuries occurred. Aurobindo Pharma emphasized that it implemented all necessary safety measures to protect employees, secure assets, and maintain operational continuity.

Aurobindo Pharma reported that the incident temporarily reduced the unit’s monthly production by about three percent. The company is already restoring and refurbishing the affected areas, and expects to resume full operations within a few weeks. Aurobindo Pharma confirmed that the fire does not materially impact its finances or operations.
