Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, signed a strategic, long-term manufacturing and supply agreement (MSA) with a leading global pharmaceutical company. Under the agreement, Aurigene will undertake the commercial manufacturing and supply of a diversified drug-product portfolio for markets across the US, Europe, Canada and emerging markets.

Full-Service CDMO Framework

The agreement establishes an integrated framework covering the complete manufacturing lifecycle. It includes technology transfer, process development, scale-up, validation, commercial manufacturing and long-term supply. The partnership strengthens Aurigene’s drug-product CDMO and CMO capabilities, particularly in sterile injectables and biologics. It also complements the company’s existing development and manufacturing expertise across the pharmaceutical value chain.

Portfolio Includes More Than 20 Products

The initial portfolio comprises more than 20 products, covering sterile injectables, biologics and topical formulations. Aurigene will manufacture these products across its facilities in India. The partnership will progress through a phased technology-transfer programme over the next two to three years. This process will subsequently lead to commercial manufacturing and long-term supply. At full commercialisation, the portfolio is expected to reach an estimated annual volume of approximately 18 million units, with injectables accounting for the majority of production. Revenue generation is expected to begin in calendar year 2028.

Partnership Strengthens Aurigene’s CDMO Business

According to Akhil Ravi, CEO of Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services, the agreement reflects growing confidence among global pharmaceutical innovators in the company’s integrated drug-product development and manufacturing capabilities. He highlighted Aurigene’s expertise in sterile injectables, biologics and topicals, along with its quality and regulatory track record and ability to execute complex technology transfers. As reported by pharmabiz.com, the long-term partnership is expected to provide greater revenue visibility, accelerate the scale-up of Aurigene’s drug-product business and strengthen its position in global pharmaceutical manufacturing. In addition, it reinforces the company’s focus on delivering reliable, high-quality pharmaceutical products to patients worldwide.
