Engineers India Limited (EIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NMDC Energy to enhance cooperation in executing onshore oil and gas projects in Saudi Arabia. The collaboration will focus on oil and gas processing, refineries, petrochemicals, pipelines, storage terminals, and energy transition initiatives.

Leveraging Complementary Strengths

EIL stated that the partnership underscores its commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and strategic global collaborations. The agreement aims to combine EIL’s extensive engineering and design expertise with NMDC Energy’s strong project execution capabilities. Both companies will prioritise sustainability, operational efficiency, and technological advancement in project delivery.

Strengthened Presence in the Middle East

NMDC Energy, part of the UAE-based NMDC Group, offers engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions across the oil and gas, petrochemical, and energy transition sectors. According to industry sources, the two companies plan to jointly bid for and deliver onshore EPC projects in Saudi Arabia. The collaboration will also leverage NMDC’s fabrication facilities in Ras Al Khair and EIL’s design centre in Al Khobar.

Broader Global Expansion Plans

EIL highlighted in its FY25 annual report that it is expanding its footprint across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. The company is targeting opportunities in refinery upgrades, fertiliser plants, and oil and gas infrastructure development. Recently, EIL secured technical support service contracts from ADNOC Group companies and a General Service Agreement with BAPCO, Bahrain. In addition, EIL won the engineering services contract for a Jetty-less Green Ammonia Transfer System in Oman and is pursuing further projects in Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia globally.

Focus on Sustainable Growth and Energy Transition

As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, the partnership aligns with regional goals to develop advanced, climate-resilient energy infrastructure while transitioning to cleaner technologies. EIL and NMDC Energy intend to jointly deliver solutions that support long-term sustainability and energy diversification across the Gulf region.
