Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) is moving ahead with plans to establish a world-class refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Ramayapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The proposed facility will have a refining capacity of nine million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and an ethylene production capacity of 1.5 MTPA.

Designed to produce transportation fuels and a wide portfolio of petrochemicals, the project will ensure products meet at least BS-VI fuel specifications while also maximizing the output of value-added and niche petrochemicals.

EIL leads geotechnical investigation phase

Engineers India Ltd. (EIL), appointed as the consultant for the project, has issued a tender inviting bids for geotechnical investigation works. This critical phase will help assess soil and subsurface conditions at the refinery site, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable construction. EIL has called on competent contractors to participate under a single-stage two-bid system.

Tender details and submission timeline

Interested bidders must submit their applications by 28 August 2025. As reported by projectstoday.com, the selected contractor will play a pivotal role in providing the technical foundation for one of India’s most ambitious refining and petrochemical projects on the East Coast.
