Envision Energy India announced that its latest wind turbine model, the EN 182-5.0 MW, has received official inclusion in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM)—a critical requirement for deploying wind turbines in India. With this certification, the company can now proceed with orders totaling two gigawatts (GW).

Next-Gen Turbine Designed for Indian Wind Conditions

Tailored specifically for India’s wind landscape, the EN 182-5.0 MW turbine features a 181-metre rotor diameter, 89-metre blades, and a hub height of 105.56 metres, all mounted on a robust tubular steel tower. The platform promises a 40% higher Annual Energy Production (AEP) compared to Envision’s earlier EN 156/3.3 MW model. It delivers significantly improved performance, especially in low-wind regions.

Production Ramps Up in Tiruchirappalli and Pune

With a two GW order book already secured from Independent Power Producer (IPP) clients, Envision is preparing to begin deliveries in the third quarter of 2025. To support this scale-up, the company’s blade manufacturing plant in Tiruchirappalli is preparing to increase output. Meanwhile, its nacelle and hub assembly unit in Pune is also gearing up to boost production capacity.

Strategic Advantage in Low-Wind Regions

Since developers have already built out most high-wind sites in India, Envision’s new turbine offers an efficient solution for underutilised low-wind zones. The improved energy output and efficiency will make future wind projects more viable and cost-effective, boosting returns for developers.

Commitment to Innovation and Market Expansion

RPV Prasad, Managing Director of Envision Energy India, highlighted the significance of the new platform. He said, “The EN 182-5.0 MW platform is a transformative solution designed for India’s unique wind conditions.” This approval underscores our commitment to innovation and quality, while enabling developers to meet generation targets in low-wind areas.”

Strengthening India’s Wind Energy Landscape

The RLMM clearance marks a major milestone for Envision Energy as it strengthens its presence in India’s fast-growing renewable energy sector. Knnindia.co.in reports that the company will play a pivotal role in advancing India’s clean energy goals, enabled by its high-performance turbine.
