GFCL Subsidiary Secures Funding for Strategic Oman Battery Materials Project

Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFCL) has accelerated its global expansion plans by signing key investment agreements through its subsidiary, marking a decisive entry into the fast-growing battery materials segment. The move strengthens the company’s footprint in electric mobility and energy storage, two of the world’s most promising clean energy markets.

Strategic Expansion into Oman

As part of the plan, GFCL EV (SFZ) LLC, a step-down subsidiary of GFCL, has formalised agreements with Omani authorities to establish a greenfield battery materials manufacturing facility at the Salalah Free Zone. Through this investment, the company aims to create a state-of-the-art production hub that will serve global customers while leveraging Oman’s strategic location and industrial infrastructure.

Focus on Advanced Battery Materials

The upcoming facility will manufacture advanced battery materials tailored for next-generation industries. Specifically, it will cater to the rapidly expanding electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) markets, where demand for high-performance materials continues to surge. By entering this segment, GFCL is positioning itself to capitalise on accelerating clean energy adoption and the global transition toward electrification.

Structured Through Subsidiary Network

The project will be executed by GFCL EV (SFZ) LLC, which operates under GFCL EV Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of GFCL. This layered structure allows the company to streamline investments and focus on specialised battery materials operations.

Backed by a Diversified Group

GFCL EV Products Limited is part of the INOXGFL Group, a diversified industrial group with a strong presence across fluoropolymers, refrigerants, specialty chemicals, and renewable energy solutions, including wind and solar power. As reported by scanx.trade, the Oman project further strengthens the group’s clean-tech portfolio. It also aligns its manufacturing capabilities with global sustainability trends.
