Green Hydrogen developers and stakeholders in the renewable energy sector have raised concerns regarding several regulatory provisions, including enabling dual connectivity, specific contractual conditions, state-imposed demand charges, and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) policies in a recent meeting with power and renewable energy minister, RK Singh. The minister has assured the industry that the government would carefully consider and address their issues promptly.

The minister emphasised India’s commitment to becoming a competitive player in the field of green hydrogen and its derivative exports. He further mentioned that while promoting the production of green hydrogen, the government would not compromise on grid security to ensure competitiveness.

As reported by sarkaritel.com, the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), launched in January 2023, has a total budget of ₹19,744 crore. The mission sets the target of producing five million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030, coupled with the addition of 125 GW of renewable energy capacity.
