Inox Wind, a leading manufacturer of wind turbine generators and components, has announced plans to invest Rs 400 crore to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Kyadigoppa Industrial Area, Kushtagi taluk, Koppal district, Karnataka. The project is supported by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) and aims to strengthen the state’s renewable energy manufacturing sector.

Two-Phase Project with Significant Employment Generation

Inox Wind will develop the facility in two phases, allocating Rs 300 crore initially and the remaining ₹100 crore in the second phase. Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil highlighted that the plant will create around 1,000 direct jobs, significantly boosting local employment and skill development.

Strategic Location for Efficient Operations

Inox Wind selected the Kyadigoppa site due to its proximity to the National Highway, which is crucial for the transportation of large turbine blades and towers. Initially, the company considered Vijayapura district, but moved to Koppal owing to the lack of suitable industrial land near major highways.

Boosting Karnataka’s Renewable Energy Capabilities

As reported by projectswatch.com, the facility will manufacture wind turbine towers, blades, and pillars, enhancing domestic production capacity and supporting India’s renewable energy transition. The project will increase local manufacturing of key wind energy components. This will strengthen supply chains, reduce import dependence, and bolster Karnataka’s position in the green energy sector.
