Ketjen Corporation inaugurated its newly expanded ZSM-5 manufacturing facility in Bayport, Texas, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by customers, local officials, industry representatives, and company executives. The event marked a significant investment milestone in Ketjen’s history.

Doubling Production Capacity

The expansion—the largest ever for Ketjen—will double the company’s ZSM-5 production capacity, ensuring greater supply availability for customers and enabling them to respond to evolving market demands. The Bayport facility is now strategically positioned to meet the rising need for fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts and additives. These are vital for maximizing high-octane gasoline production and generating key petrochemical feedstocks such as propylene.

Commitment to Customers and Innovation

“Opening our expanded Bayport plant is a pivotal moment for Ketjen and our global refining and petrochemicals customers,” said Michael J. Simmons, President of Ketjen. “We are proud to deliver reliable supply and innovative solutions. This investment also gives refiners the flexibility to transition toward higher-value products, supporting both profitability and sustainability,” Simmons added.

Strengthening Technology Leadership

The Bayport expansion underscores Ketjen’s leadership in FCC catalyst technology. It also reflects the company’s commitment to advancing the refining and petrochemical industries. Simmons added, “This facility strengthens our FCC technology leadership and demonstrates our ongoing support for the refining industry as we address future customer and industry needs.”

Driving Growth and Sustainability

As per the press release, with this expansion, Ketjen not only enhances its global supply capabilities but also reinforces its dedication to helping customers achieve greater efficiency, product flexibility, and sustainable growth.
