The Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) business vertical of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) bagged a significant order from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL). The contract relates to the 2X1000 MWe Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP – Units 5 & 6) in Tamil Nadu.
Comprehensive Scope of Work
As per company press release, the order covers a wide-ranging mechanical package, including the installation of nuclear reactors, turbine systems with generators and condensers, and seawater systems. It also involves the supply and installation of polar and trestle cranes, accessories, piping, supports, structural steelwork, insulation, and anti-corrosion coating. In addition, L&T will carry out painting and full-scale testing across multiple buildings and structures at the project site.
