Manali Petrochemicals Limited has marked a key milestone through its subsidiary PennWhite India Private Limited by inaugurating a new manufacturing facility at Oragadam, Chennai, on April 29, 2026. This strategic expansion strengthens the company’s manufacturing infrastructure and enhances its footprint in the specialty chemicals sector.

The newly commissioned plant represents a focused investment to boost production capacity in foam control chemistry. Not only does the facility cater to domestic demand, but it also aims to serve customers across broader Asian markets. The facility operates under the same stringent quality and manufacturing standards as PennWhite’s established facility in the United Kingdom, ensuring consistency and global competitiveness.
Strengthening India and Asia Market Presence
PennWhite Limited—the parent entity—was acquired by Manali Petrochemicals in November 2022. Subsequently, PennWhite India was incorporated in February 2024 to accelerate business growth in India and Asia. Devaki Muthiah Chardon, Chairperson of PennWhite Limited (UK), emphasized that the new facility goes beyond operational expansion. She noted that it establishes a strong strategic presence in Asia, enabling the company to better serve regional customers while unlocking new partnerships and growth opportunities.
Driving Growth Through a Phased India Strategy
Tobias Tasche, CEO of PennWhite Limited (UK), highlighted that the Oragadam facility is a critical step in the company’s India roadmap. Since the 2022 acquisition, the company has steadily expanded its footprint by incorporating PennWhite India in 2024, acquiring a defoamer business in India and commissioning the new manufacturing plant. As a result, the company is now well-positioned to scale operations and deepen market penetration in the region.
Diverse Product Portfolio and Global Reach
The Chennai facility significantly enhances production capabilities, enabling PennWhite India to manufacture over 200 products. These include foam control agents under the FoamDoctor® brand, silicone oils, and a wide range of specialty chemicals. The facility has already secured ISO 9001 certification, underscoring its commitment to quality management. In addition, further certifications related to quality assurance and food safety are currently in progress, which will strengthen its credibility in regulated markets.
