Moglix, a leading supply chain technology company, has inaugurated a new greenfield bitumen processing facility under its manufacturing arm DRG Industries, located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura. Commercial production at the facility is scheduled to begin in July 2025. The strategic expansion reinforces Moglix’s commitment to fueling India’s infrastructure ambitions with high-performance, sustainable materials.
As India—home to the world’s second-largest road network—prioritizes road safety and longevity, the demand for durable, next-gen road materials is surging. Moglix’s latest plant aims to bridge this demand-supply gap by producing advanced bitumen solutions that extend pavement life, enhance safety, and align with the nation’s goal of reducing road accidents by 2030.
Advanced Bitumen Products for Longer-Lasting Roads
Through DRG Industries, Moglix will manufacture a new generation of value-added bitumen products, including:
- Polymer-modified bitumen
- Microsurfacing-grade emulsions
- Hard binders
These solutions are engineered to extend road durability, cut down maintenance cycles, and lower the total carbon footprint—offering a comprehensive response to India’s evolving road infrastructure challenges.
Microsurfacing: Doubling Pavement Life with Fewer Emissions
A standout offering from the new facility is microsurfacing, a globally recognized solution for sealing surface cracks, boosting road friction, and enhancing durability. Compared to traditional resurfacing methods, microsurfacing can double pavement lifespan while reducing carbon emissions by up to 44%, making it a vital tool in sustainable road construction.
Local Innovation Backed by R&D
To tailor solutions for India’s diverse topography, climate zones, and traffic patterns, Moglix is investing heavily in indigenous research and development. The facility houses a dedicated in-house R&D center, focused on formulating customized bitumen products suited for both rural and urban roads.
Rahul Garg, Founder and CEO, Moglix, said, “Our roads are the veins of Viksit Bharat. Building them stronger and smarter requires materials that are not only durable but sustainable. DRG Industries is our commitment to building roads that last longer, perform better, and serve more—with responsibility at the core.”
Cutting-Edge Facility with Sustainable Operations
Spread across 3.5 acres, the DRG Industries plant features:
- Advanced Denimotech mills
- Fully automated processing lines
- Biomass-fueled, carbon-neutral boilers
- Scrubber systems and filter bags for emission control
With an installed monthly processing capacity exceeding 28,000 metric tons, the facility firmly positions Moglix as a key player in India’s evolving bitumen ecosystem.
Strategic Location to Serve North and Central India
The facility is strategically located to optimize supply chain access. It will cater to infrastructure projects across northern and central India. Key states include Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir. It will also support exports to neighboring markets like Nepal. As reported by nbmcw.com, the launch underscores Moglix’s role in sustainable infrastructure development. It also strengthens India’s capacity to build safer, longer-lasting roads for the future.
