Nuberg EPC, a leading global engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, bagged a prestigious international contract from Msufini Tanzania Ltd. for the review, design, procurement, installation, construction, and commissioning of a 45 TPD Chlor-Alkali Plant in the Mlandizi District of Tanzania’s Coast Region. The project is scheduled for commissioning by January 2027. The latest order reinforces Nuberg EPC’s growing global presence and highlights its commitment to supporting industrial development across emerging markets.

Advanced Technology for Efficient and Sustainable Operations

The chlor-alkali facility will incorporate state-of-the-art process technology designed to deliver superior operational efficiency, enhanced process reliability, and compliance with international safety and environmental standards. As the EPC contractor, Nuberg EPC will manage the project from concept to commissioning. The company will leverage its proven project management capabilities, stringent quality assurance systems, and disciplined execution approach to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Strategic Location to Drive Industrial Growth

Located in the Mlandizi District of Tanzania’s Coast Region, the project site offers excellent logistical advantages due to its proximity to major transportation networks and port infrastructure. Consequently, the facility will benefit from streamlined supply chain operations and efficient movement of raw materials and finished products. The project is expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities while stimulating economic activity across the region.

Production of Essential Industrial Chemicals

The plant will manufacture chlorine and caustic soda as its primary products. In addition, it will produce a range of valuable downstream chemicals and derivatives, including hydrogen, hydrochloric acid (HCl), sodium hypochlorite, liquid chlorine, caustic soda lye, and caustic soda flakes. These products play a critical role in numerous industries, including water treatment, sanitation, pharmaceuticals, textiles, paper and pulp, plastics, and chemical manufacturing. As a result, the facility will contribute significantly to supporting both industrial production and essential public utility services within Tanzania.

Expanding Global Footprint and Strong African Presence

The Tanzania project further strengthens Nuberg EPC’s international credentials. The company has successfully executed projects across more than 35 countries, serving clients in diverse industrial sectors. In Africa, Nuberg EPC has already delivered major projects in countries such as Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Egypt. Consequently, the company continues to deepen its presence across the continent’s rapidly growing industrial markets.

Supporting Tanzania’s Industrialization Agenda

The chlor-alkali facility is expected to enhance Tanzania’s domestic production capacity for essential chemicals, reduce reliance on imports, and encourage the growth of downstream industries. Moreover, the project aligns closely with Tanzania’s broader goals of industrialization, economic diversification, and job creation. By strengthening local manufacturing capabilities, the facility will contribute to the country’s long-term industrial and economic development.
