HELM AG, a global chemical company, and Parijat Industries (India) Limited, an India-headquartered agrochemical company, announced a multi-faceted strategic collaboration spanning digital commerce, branded crop protection products, technical manufacturing and international distribution.
Through this partnership, the companies aim to combine HELM’s global agri-input portfolio and technology platforms—including its portfolio company PEAT GmbH, the developer of the Plantix digital agriculture platform—with Parijat’s manufacturing infrastructure, formulation capabilities and global distribution network. As a result, the collaboration seeks to strengthen market access, accelerate product development and create new opportunities for farmers and agricultural stakeholders in India and international markets.
Strengthening Parijat’s Digital and Market Presence in India
As part of the strategic collaboration, Parijat will acquire a retailer-focused digital commerce platform and its associated retailer database. This move is expected to enhance procurement efficiency, improve market access and strengthen product distribution across key regions. In addition, Parijat will work closely with the Plantix team to leverage its farmer-connect and demand-generation capabilities. The partnership will also enable the exclusive integration of selected features to support direct-to-farmer marketing initiatives. The collaboration will establish a new branded product line in India. Parijat and its subsidiary, Leeds Lifesciences, have secured exclusive rights to use the HELM brand in India. Parijat also intends to introduce HELM’s Plant Advantage Line, comprising biostimulants and biological products, to the Indian agricultural market.
Expanding Manufacturing Collaboration for Global Markets
Beyond India, the partnership positions Parijat’s manufacturing and patented formulation development capabilities to support HELM’s global requirements. Parijat intends to develop technical manufacturing capabilities for proprietary molecules developed by HELM. At the same time, the companies aim to establish Parijat as a toll manufacturing partner for HELM’s global active ingredient and formulation requirements. Consequently, the collaboration could strengthen Parijat’s role in the international agrochemical supply chain while creating opportunities for technology transfer, product development and manufacturing growth.
Opening New International Markets for Parijat
The strategic alliance also aims to expand the international reach of Parijat’s products. Through HELM’s established distribution network, Parijat plans to explore opportunities in Latin America, Canada and Southeast Asia. Additionally, Parijat intends to leverage HELM’s global sourcing network to improve procurement competitiveness. The company also plans to engage with HELM’s network of multinational innovators, positioning itself as a preferred product co-development partner in India. Together, these initiatives aim to create stronger cross-border synergies across sourcing, manufacturing, innovation and distribution.
Digital Agriculture to Strengthen Farmer Engagement
Uday Raj Anand, CEO – Domestic Business at Parijat Industries, said the partnership represents an important step towards the company’s vision of using digital technologies to strengthen farmer advisory and distribution in the agrochemical industry. He said, “The partnership with HELM and Plantix is an important step towards Parijat’s vision towards the use of digital technologies for farmer advisory and distribution in the Agrochemical industry. HELM is a multi billion dollar 125 year old company headquartered in Germany with a global presence. The opportunity to launch a line of products carrying the HELM brand name in India is an exciting step for our company and a testimony to Parijat’s global reputation for trust and quality.”
Leveraging Global Sourcing and Distribution Strengths
Shivraj Anand, CEO – International Business at Parijat Industries, highlighted the potential to combine the companies’ sourcing and distribution capabilities across global markets. He said, “With this global strategic partnership, HELM and Parijat have the opportunity of leveraging each other’s sourcing and distribution strength across continents and aim to truly create a winning solution for farmers. I look forward to working with the HELM teams and their partner companies across countries whilst also introducing their innovative biological solutions through our own network of distribution companies across the globe.”
HELM Sees Parijat as a Strong Strategic Partner in India
Welcoming Parijat Industries into HELM’s global partner network, Stephan Schnabel, CEO at HELM AG, emphasised that the collaboration extends beyond commercial opportunities and is built on trust, shared values and complementary capabilities. He said, “For HELM, partnerships have never been only about commercial opportunity. They are about trust, shared values and the belief that together we can create more value than either side could achieve alone.” Schnabel added that Parijat’s expertise in distribution, product development and manufacturing, combined with its entrepreneurial approach and commitment to ethical business practices, made it a strong strategic partner for HELM in India. He further highlighted India’s growing importance in the future of global agriculture and said that combining HELM’s international experience and network with Parijat’s strong local capabilities could create significant value for customers, growers and the broader agricultural value chain.
A Strategic Step for Global Agrochemical Growth
The collaboration between Parijat Industries, HELM AG and Plantix brings together digital agriculture, crop protection, biologicals, manufacturing and international distribution under a broader strategic framework. As per the press release, the partnership aims to strengthen agrochemical innovation, digital farmer engagement, technical manufacturing and global market access. By combining their respective strengths, the partners seek to develop scalable solutions that can support farmers while expanding their presence across India and key international agricultural markets.
