Pearl Group announced the appointment of Suzuki Masayuki as its new Head of R&D and Product Development. Suzuki will lead the company’s innovation agenda, focusing on expanding product diversification and advancing polyurethane (PU) technologies.

Extensive Industry Experience and Technical Leadership
Suzuki brings over 24 years of experience in research and development, along with technical service and development (TS&D) in the chemical industry. Notably, he spent 19 years at Dow Polyurethanes, where he demonstrated strong leadership across the polyurethane value chain. Throughout his career, he has successfully launched multiple products and start-ups involving DMC polyols, developed and commercialised PU systems in Japan and Southeast Asia, secured several US patents, highlighting his innovation capabilities.
Proven Track Record Across Global Markets
Before joining Pearl Group, Suzuki served as Senior TS&D Scientist for Polyurethanes APAC and Site Leader at the Dow Japan Development Center. In this role, he oversaw site operations and ensured compliance with environmental, health, safety, and sustainability (EH&S) standards. Additionally, he has held R&D roles at GE Silicones and Mitsubishi Paper Mills. His international experience includes assignments in China and Thailand, further strengthening his global industry perspective.
Recognition for Technical Excellence
Suzuki’s contributions to the industry have been widely recognized. In 2024, he received the TS&D Pinnacle Award, making him the sole technical awardee within the APAC Polyurethanes TS&D/R&D organization. Jose Diaz, General Manager Europe, emphasized that Suzuki’s expertise will help the company remain at the forefront of innovation, technical excellence, and customer service. Suzuki expressed enthusiasm about leading Pearl’s R&D initiatives. He highlighted his commitment to expanding the company’s PU product portfolio and collaborating closely with global teams, customers, and partners.
