SAEL Announces Five GW Solar Module Manufacturing Facility in Uttar Pradesh

SAEL Industries announced a landmark investment of approximately ₹8,200 crore to establish an integrated solar manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The project, spearheaded through its subsidiary SAEL Solar P6, is set to become a major contributor to India’s domestic solar manufacturing capacity and its clean energy transition.

Backed by State Government Support

The facility will be located within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) zone.

SAEL will begin construction in 2025, and the plant will house:

  • A 5 gigawatt (GW) solar cell manufacturing unit
  • A 5 GW solar module manufacturing line

Together, these facilities will significantly boost India’s capacity for domestically produced solar components. This will help reduce reliance on imports and strengthen the country’s renewable energy supply chain.

Aligning with National Green Energy Goals

The strategic investment supports the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative and aligns with its push for energy self-reliance and sustainability. Once operational, the Greater Noida facility will position SAEL as a key player in India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, capable of delivering high-efficiency solar components at scale.

Boosting Local Economy and Job Creation

The project will create numerous employment opportunities in the region. It will also contribute to local economic development and skill enhancement in the green energy sector. As reported by newsonprojects.com, SAEL’s expansion reflects growing private sector confidence in India’s renewables-driven future. It also reinforces Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a leading solar manufacturing hub in the country.
